SGJ Apps

Free software for Biblical scholars and students

Welcome to SGJ Apps

On this site you will find three Free Software applications designed and written by a theology student for fellow students and theologians.

Cite SBLHS is designed to produce citation footnotes, endnotes and a bibliography for publications conforming to the Society for Biblical Literature's  Handbook of Style: For Ancient Near Eastern, Biblical, and Early Christian Studies (aka SBLHS).  It is currently available for use as a beta test.  It also includes integration with Ibidem, the bibliographic management tool of Nota Bene.

Yet Another vocab Tester is designed to aid the learning of vocab and grammar, especially for Biblical Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek.

Bible Unicode Pad is a trivial and almost completely useless sample application. I have written some Java Input Methods in order to make the above software work more easily. These methods specifically enable inserting Greek and Hebrew/Aramaic, with all the diacriticals needed for the Bible, with great ease. They also allow you to select any Unicode code point for insertion, and to select them knowing how they will appear in any installed font on your system.

Enjoy!
